Mathilde Fenger, born in 1977, has made a name for herself as Denmark's first female battle painter, a title she achieved in 2013.
Her art extends beyond war situations and also includes other significant social events. Dedicated to history painting, she depicts complex and sensitive aspects of today's crises and issues.
Fenger emphasizes the importance of paying attention to contemporary events, which she believes contributes to our shared historical understanding. Her works serve as a visual narrative that goes further than just being artistic statements - and become documentation of historical milestones.
